Use this database to find:

1. Names, addresses, and phone numbers for individuals and businesses.
2. Names of key personnel at businesses.
3. Estimated sales figures for businesses.
4. Lines of business for companies.

To get there:

1. Go to DPL's website (www.carrollnet.org/dpl).
2. Click the Other Online Databases & Library Resources link.
3. Click Reference USA. If you are outside the library, you will be asked to enter your library card number.

To do a quick search:

1. Click Business or Residential.
2. Quick Search is the default. Type Name and City or State if known.
3. Click Search Now.
4. Click on the highlighted name that appears in the results box to get detailed information.

1. Click Business or Residential.
2. Click Custom Search.
3. Select from the various boxes different options you want to include in the search. For example, you could search on City, State, and Home-based Businesses to get a list of those types of businesses in a certain area.
4. Click Create Search Form.
5. In the Search Criteria fields for each of the options you chose, enter the data with which you want to narrow the search.

With Reference USA, you can answer questions like

• How many publicly traded companies are headquartered in the state of Indiana?
• Where is the headquarters for Nike? What is their sales revenue? Are they on the Fortune 1000 list?
• What florists are located close to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis?
