White's
Whites Eagle Spectrum
I have a Whites Eagle Spectrum and the following slimline version. I
have to say that these detectors are stunning. Depth is excellent, but
their critical advantage is the bar graph visual display of a target’s
electronic profile. It always correctly portrays the metallic nature of
a signal and in coinshooting this is everything. Fitted with the smaller
blue max coil I have consistently raided sites previously cleaned out
because I could differentiate a coin next to or even under a nail.
The mixed mode feature allows you to listen for the important
concentration patterns of iron and therefore potential house sites or
activity areas which foretell coin rich ground. Upon passing over better
metal the detector chirps at a higher frequency alerting you to the
possibility of a coin.
My only complaint is that the detector is
unstable at times and the electronics of the blue max coils fall apart
in six months of modest use. I have replaced or repaired 3 in 1.5 years.
Still I not only recommend this detector but insist that everyone go and
buy one immediately.
